Mike Love's path to estate planning advisory is one of the most distinctive on the ClearEstate team — and one of the most substantive. His career in financial services spans more than 15 years and takes in experience that very few estate advisors can claim: from federal policy work that shaped Canadian financial infrastructure, to a decade-plus at the heart of Canada's high-net-worth trust administration sector.

Mike began his career as a Policy Advisor at the Office of the Minister of Finance Canada, where he was part of the team that helped conceive, develop, and launch two landmark financial vehicles: the Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) and the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP). Both instruments are now fundamental to how Canadians save, invest, and plan for the future — and for the transfer of wealth at death. Having been part of the team that brought them to life gives Mike a depth of understanding of these instruments that goes well beyond what most advisors can offer.

He then spent nearly 12 years at a federally-regulated trust company — specializing in the planning, management and administration of trusts, estates, powers of attorney, and guardianships for high-net-worth Canadian families.. His decade at the trust company was defined by direct involvement in the administration and settlement of complex Canadian estates: the kind of practical, institutional knowledge that is difficult to replicate outside a trust company environment.

Before joining ClearEstate in June 2024, Mike spent three years as Senior Manager, Customer Success at Nest Wealth, one of Canada's largest independent digital wealth management platforms, where he led enterprise client programs and built service frameworks that made complex financial processes accessible to everyday clients.

At ClearEstate, Mike brings this breadth of experience directly to our team, who help families planning for the future — ensuring they understand the implications of their estate plan, structure their assets in a tax-efficient way, and make decisions that will protect the people they care about.
